Our Story
The story of After Hours Fun begins in a garage in the South Bay of Los Angeles.
Growing up in a low-income community, creativity wasn't just a hobby; it was a necessity. If you wanted something, you built it. Wooden slingshots, Frankenstein bikes pieced together from spare parts—it was a childhood fueled by imagination and resourcefulness.
That DIY spirit was paired with a deep love for 80s and 90s pop culture. The best days were the rainy ones at school when the teacher would hang Halloween decorations on the calendar. Halloween quickly became an obsession, and the first character I ever remember drawing was Chucky from Child's Play.
That blend of spooky nostalgia and hands-on creativity became the blueprint for everything.
The passion for drawing eventually led to a career as a graphic designer for a licensed apparel company. I learned the ins and outs of the industry but always felt a pull to create something more personal, something that spoke directly to the subcultures that raised me, without a corporate filter.
After 2020, what started as a simple hobby sharing art on Instagram began to connect with people. It grew from selling stickers into what After Hours Fun is today: a 100% human, artist-driven brand helmed by me, Daniel Avila Jr.
This brand is the culmination of that journey. It’s the Frankenstein bike from the garage, the love for a well-made horror film, and the hard-won knowledge of how to make apparel that lasts. We believe in quality over quantity, which is why we focus on limited drops using the best materials we can find.
There is no AI, no design by committee—just authentic goods for the ghouls.
